Weekly Forum       “U.S. Symbols”       

There are many symbols that represent the United States.  In this new Weekly Forum series, presentators will explore the historical basis for these symbols and what they mean to modern Americans. Please join us for an informative and interesting event.

American Film Series

The U.S. Consulate screens an American film two Friday nights each month. Come out and enjoy the film and the lively discussions afterwards.

September  6

Note: Dr. John Simon is Augustus Lines Professor Emeritus of Law and Professorial Lecturer at Yale Law School. He served from 1953 to 1958 in both military and civilian capacities as an assistant to the General Counsel, Office of the Secretary of the Army, and practiced law in New York. At Yale Law School he has specialized in teaching and research related to the nonprofit sector and philanthropy (since 1963) and elementary and secondary education (since 1966). He was the founding Director (from 1977 to 1982) of the Yale Program on Nonprofit Organizations, an interdisciplinary research center. His publications include The Ethical Investor (with Jon Gunnemann and Charles Powers). He is a graduate of Harvard College and Yale Law School.
