2009 inauguration event invitation

The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou

Cordially invites you to attend

A Viewing of the Historic Inauguration Day Ceremony for President-Elect Barack Obama (January 21)

 

We will witness the Oath of Office on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, listen to his Inaugural Address, view portions of the celebration parade on Pennsylvania Avenue, and enjoy an open, informal discussion with consulate officers about the new Obama Administration. 

 

 

Additionally, in honor of Martin Luther King Day (January 19), our program will open with a look back at the struggles of the American civil rights movement. The historic “I Have a Dream Speech” will be screened in its entirety.
