Appointment Notice Update
Notice to Adoptive Families and Agencies:
We understand that travel accommodations in Guangzhou may be limited and expensive in the upcoming months due to Chinese holidays, the Asian Games and the fall Canton Trade Fair.
In order to accommodate families wishing to travel before Guangzhou’s peak travel season, the Adoptions Unit has opened more appointment slots than usual for the month of September. Please work with your adoption agencies to make an appointment as soon as you have received Travel Authorization from the China Central Adoption Agency (CCAA). Effective immediately, we require submission of FIVE possible dates that would accommodate your schedules when requesting an appointment. Any submissions with less than five possible dates will be returned to be filled out completely. This is a change from our previous requirement to submit three potential dates. Please note that, as always, we cannot schedule an appointment until you receive your CCAA Travel Authorization.
