Ambassador Huntsman's farewell visit to Guangzhou

During his farewell visit to Guangzhou last week, Ambassador Jon Huntsman met with businesspeople, government officials, consulate staff, students, media, and bloggers.  A key theme of this visit as well as his visit earlier to Shanghai was his vision of the future of US-China bilateral relations.  Here’s how he described it:  “The US- China relationship is big, it’s complicated, and it’s intimidating to a lot of people.  And over the next year or two, I think our biggest obligation and responsibility will be to figure out how can we take this relationship and personalize it and humanize in ways that all citizens, in both countries, can understand in terms of the values important to them in their daily lives.”
