CG Attends AmCham White Paper Release
The American Chamber of Commerce south China held a press conference the morning of March 1 to formally release its 2011 report (in both English and Chinese) assessing China’s business environment. (See AmCham website www.amcham-southchina.org.) In his brief remarks, Consul General Goldbeck offered congratulations to AmCham, President Seyedin, and the Report Committee for preparing and releasing its latest edition of this highly awaited and respected report. He noted that last year the high quality of AmCham’s report was recognized by Guangdong Party Secretary Wang Yang, who asked it be translated and then distributed to government officials as required reading. CG Goldbeck said the Consulate will forward copies of this year’s report to Washington to help inform thinking there regarding U.S. business attitudes and commercial opportunities in south China. He concluded that the U.S. Consulate General appreciates AmCham’s close support and cooperation and that the Consulate looks look forward to continuing our work with the U.S. business community to advance the National Export Initiative and promote mutually beneficial economic cooperation with China.
