On August 9th, Consul General Brian L. Goldbeck, accompanied by the Consulate’s Commercial Consul, Ireas Cook, called on China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Guangzhou President Zeng Kai Zhang to discuss bilateral trade and investment promotion opportunities. It was  agreed that the upcoming Guangzhou International Symposium and Exhibition on Low Carbon Products and Technologies, scheduled for September 20th, presented excellent opportunities for U.S. and Chinese firms to make contacts as well as to learn about each other’s capabilities and needs in this important and rapidly-growing sector.  CG Goldbeck said he was pleased to hear that both the American Chambers of Commerce in south China and in Hong Kong planned to participate and that the event had strong central, provincial, and local government support.  Additional details may be found on CCPIT’s website.
