Contacting Guangzhou

The U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou Immigrant Visa Section wishes to answer your questions and process your cases in the most timely manner possible. To help accomplish this goal, the Immigrant Visa Section asks that inquiries about the following items be directed to the U.S. Visa Information Center.

1.  Questions about whether a visa petition has arrived at the Consulate
2.  Questions about whether a case is ready to be scheduled for an interview
3.  Questions about interview appointment wait times
4.  Questions about when an interview is currently scheduled

The U.S. Visa Information Center will be able to provide immediate answers to some of your questions while allowing the Immigrant Visa section to devote more resources to the processing of pending cases, benefiting both petitioners and applicants alike. The U.S. Visa Information Center currently can assist callers in Mandarin, Cantonese, Taishanese, and English.

In Person

U.S. citizen petitioners who would like general information on the Immigrant Visa process in Guangzhou may attend an information session hosted by consular officers on Mondays at 14:30. We recommend that you arrive at the consulate around 14:00 in order to go through security check procedures. At 14:30, we will stop admitting petitioners into the Immigrant Visa waiting room and will promptly begin the session at that time. The aim of these sessions is to address frequently-asked questions and provide you with a better understanding of the process. Additional materials for cases that have already been interviewed will not be accepted during these sessions.

Due to workload constraints, U.S. citizen petitioners will only be allowed to ask questions about petitions they have filed (or are in the process of filing) themselves.
