F2B Visas: Unmarried Sons and Daughters

LPRs may apply for F2B immigrant visas on behalf of their unmarried foreign national sons and daughters by filing a Form I-130 Immigrant Petition with USCIS. Children of the beneficiary may qualify for derivative immigration benefits on the same I-130 petition if they are unmarried and under the age of 21.

Note: If the petitioner naturalizes as a U.S. citizen, the visa class will be automatically converted to F1 for the principal beneficiary by providing a notarized copy of the petitioner’s naturalization certificate to the National Visa Center.
