"Dear Mr. President and Madame Secretary" Letter Writing Contest

U.S. Consul General Robert Goldberg is pleased to announce a contest open to all high school and university students in Guangdong, Fujian, Guangxi and Hainan provinces.  Here is your chance to advise President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton on U.S.-China relations and to enjoy an American barbecue with the U.S. Consul General!

Your letter to President Obama and Secretary Clinton must: (1) explain your hopes for the future of U.S.-China relations and how would you advise President Obama and Secretary Clinton to reach these goals; and (2) be posted on the Consulate General’s Facebook page no later than April 15 (go to www.facebook.com and search for Consulate Guangzhou Community or 美国驻广州总领事馆团体).

All letters should begin as follows:  "Dear Mr. President and Madame Secretary:  My name is XXX and I am a student at XXX university/high school."  All letters must be limited to 1000 words/characters.  Students are encouraged to write in English, but Chinese is acceptable.

Consul General Goldberg will review all letters and announce the winner on the Facebook site on April 24.  The Consulate General will forward the winning letter to President Obama and Secretary Clinton, and Consul General Goldberg will invite the winner and his or her family, teachers and friends to his home for an American-style barbecue in May!
