Renunciation of U.S. Citizenship

Important announcement:  Those Americans living in our consular district who wish to renounce their citizenship must make an appointment to discuss their intent with a consular officer and to pick up the forms.  The forms must then be returned and an appointment made to renounce.  It takes at least 6 - 8 weeks to receive the approval of the renunciation from Washington. The Consulate will hold your U.S. passport during this period.

  • DS-4079 Information for Determining Possible Loss of U.S. Citizenship
  • DS-4080 Oath of Renunciation of the Nationality of the United States
  • DS-4081 Statement of Understanding Concerning the Consequences and Ramifications of Renunciation of U.S. Citizenship
  • DS-4082 Witnesses' Attestation Renunciation of Citizenship
  • DS-4083 Certificate of Loss of Nationality of the United States
