U.S. CG Discovers Beautiful Shaoguan

On August 10-11, Consul General Brian L. Goldbeck traveled by high-speed rail to the mountainous city of Shaoguan in northern Guangdong.  He met with Vice Mayor Chen Qiuyan and leaders from the city’s various trade, investment, and development and reform departments to explore U.S. export and investment opportunities.  He also toured Guanghua Plastic & Hardware Products Ltd., a U.S.-invested instructional toys and games company, and Hong Kong toy-maker Jetta, a supplier of major American brands.  One of his most meaningful stops was Shaoguan’s rehabilitation center for disabled peoples, where he visited children with cerebral palsy and applauded their determination to live full and productive lives.  In Shaoguan, CG Goldbeck also toured historic Nanhua Temple, one of city’s major centers of worship and top tourist destinations.
