U.S. and U.K. Consul Generals Discuss Education Opportunities

On February 20, over twenty local journalists gathered at PAS Guangzhou Offices to hear the Consul Generals from the U.S. and U.K. engage in a discussion on education opportunities in their respective countries. Both Consul Generals issued brief remarks on the benefits of pursuing an education in either the U.S. or U.K., numbers of international students, and benefits for graduated students upon returning to China.  Consular Officer Arturo Hines was also on hand to field specific visa-related questions from reporters. Media presence was strong, including TV, photo, internet, and print press. The Consul Generals took questions on issues such as costs of an education, executive and/or professional study opportunities for mid-career professionals, short-term study tours, and the strength's of each respective country's education system.
